Vorihope 200mg Injection: Effective Medical Solution

Uses:

• Invasive Aspergillosis;
• Candidemia in non-neutropenic patients;
• Esophageal candidiasis;
• Fungal infections (caused by Scedosporium apiospermum, Fusarium spp., and Fusarium solani);
• Candida infections;
• Fungal infections in high-risk bone marrow transplant patients.

Active ingredient: Voriconazole.

Class: Antifungal drug, fungal ergosterol synthesis inhibitor.

Administration:

• Administered by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting;
• Usually administered in muscle or vein (intravenous);
• Dosage, route of administration, and frequency decided by doctor based on disease condition and other factors.

Contraindications:

• Do not take if allergic to Voriconazole or other medical ingredients;
• Do not take if allergic to other azoles;
• Do not take if suffering from liver disease or have a history of liver disease;
• Do not take if have cardiomyopathy, irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate, or long QTc syndrome;
• Not recommended for children younger than 2 years of age.

Precautions:

• Avoid sunlight and sun exposure during treatment;
• Protect skin with clothing and high-SPF sunscreen;
• Keep out of sight and reach of pets and children;
• Do not freeze the medicine;
• Use immediately, but may be stored for up to 24 hours at 2°C - 8°C;
• Always check the expiry date before using.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Avoid taking during pregnancy unless directed by doctor;
• Use effective contraception;
• Limited information on use during breastfeeding; consult doctor before starting treatment.

Interaction with other drugs:

• Inform doctor about all prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products.

Side effects:

• Serious: rash, visual disturbances, liver problems, arrhythmias and QT prolongation, jaundice, pancreatitis;
• Common: fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, swelling of the extremities, itchiness and rashes, sinusitis, pain in the stomach, back, blood in urine, seizures, low BP, hair loss, low levels of glucose, sodium, potassium, WBC, platelet, neutrophil counts in the blood.

Advice:

• Liver and heart patients should take cautiously and inform doctor about all underlying medical conditions;
• Do not stop the medicine until doctor advises;
• Do not double-dose to make up for a forgotten dose;
• Consult doctor for more information.
