Sorafekast 200mg Tablet 120's

Uses:

  • Advanced renal cell carcinoma;
  • Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma that cannot be surgically treated;
  • Advanced papillary and follicular Hurtle cell thyroid carcinoma.

Mechanism of action:

  • Sorafekast 200mg Tablet works by inhibiting multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (enzymes), primarily vascular endothelial growth factor receptors and platelet-derived growth factor-β receptors. This prevents the development of blood vessels in tumor cells (angiogenesis) and arrests the growth and spread of the tumor cells to other organs.

Dosage and administration:

  • Take the Sorafekast 200 mg tablet without food (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal). Swallow with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew the tablets.

Side effects:

  • Serious: Stevens Johnsons Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrosis, decreased blood flow to the heart, increased risk of bleeding (blood in urine, stool, vomit, cough, etc.), high BP, skin problems, liver problems, problems in wound healing.
  • Common: nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, tiredness and weakness, infection, hair thinning and patchy hair loss, rash, weight loss, loss of appetite, low levels of calcium in the blood, flu-like illness.
