Uses:

• To reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization in adults with heart failure.

Active substances:

• Sacubitril
• Valsartan

Therapeutic effects:

• Sacubitril inhibits neprilysin, increasing levels of peptides and helping to control blood volume.
• Valsartan blocks the AT1 receptor and inhibits angiotensin-II-dependent aldosterone release, allowing blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Contraindications:

• Do not take if you are allergic to Sacubitril, Valsartan, or any other ingredients.
• Do not take if you have had angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat, and difficulties in breathing).
• Do not take if you have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are being treated with a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing Aliskiren.
