Rantac MPS LA Suspension

Rantac MPS LA Suspension contains three active ingredients, Megaldrate, Simethicone, and Oxetacaine, which belong to the family called anti-ulcers and antacids. It treats acidity, indigestion, heartburn, and stomach upset. Magaldrate neutralizes excess stomach acid. Simethicone reduces gas bubble surface tension for easier elimination through belching or flatulence, while oxetacaine numbs and relieves stomach pain from ulcers or acidic injury. 

Rantac MPS LA Suspension should not be consumed if you are allergic to Megaldrate, Dimethicone, or any of the ingredients in the medication. Before taking Megaldrate + Simethicone + Oxetacaine, it is important to inform your doctor if you have a history of appendicitis, bowel blockage, rectal bleeding, kidney problems, are on a low-magnesium diet, or have recently undergone bowel surgery. It is advisable to avoid taking antacids that contain aluminum and magnesium with Dimethicone and Megaldrate because that may result in constipation and intestinal obstruction, while magnesium-containing antacids could cause diarrhea. 

Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or think you might be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. Notify your physician if you are taking other medicine to avoid interaction and side effects. Do not consume alcohol because it can stimulate the production of stomach acid, resulting in increased acidity and heartburn. Avoid exceeding the recommended duration of use for this medication. This medicine is not recommended for children as its safety has not been established.
