Oxifect 100mg Injection

Description:

  • Belongs to the group of medications called platinum-based antineoplastic agents.
  • Consists of the active ingredient Oxaliplatin.

Uses:

  • Treatment of stage 3 colon cancer after resectioning (surgical removal) of the primary tumor.
  • Treatment of metastatic colon and rectum cancer.
  • Used in combination with other anti-cancer medicines.

Mechanism of action:

  • Works by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of cancer cells, interfering with their growth and multiplication.

Dosage and administration:

  • Given by slow injection into one of the veins (an intravenous infusion) over 2 to 6 hours.
  • Dose prescribed by the physician according to the patient's body surface area.

Storage:

  • Store at a temperature below 30°C.
