Lenvanib 10mg Capsule

Active ingredient: Lenvatinib

Therapeutic class: Anticancer

Pharmacological class: Tyrosine kinase inhibitor

Indications:

  • Certain types of advanced thyroid cancer when radioactive iodine therapy is not beneficial.
  • Advanced liver cancer in patients not eligible for surgical treatment.
  • Certain types of kidney cancer.
  • Endometrial cancer.

Mechanism of action:

  • Lenvatinib blocks the enzyme receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which are present in high concentrations in cancer cells.
  • Inhibition of RTKs slows down the rate of cancer cells’ growth and multiplication.

Dosage and administration:

  • Oral medication, usually taken once a day at approximately the same time each day.
  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • Common: High or low blood pressure, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, tiredness, hoarse voice, leg swelling, rashes, pain in joints or muscles, hair loss, sleeplessness, protein in urine, frequent urination, low potassium, magnesium, and calcium levels in the blood, dehydration, skin problems, gall bladder inflammation, increase in the values of cholesterol, thyroid-stimulating hormone, digestive enzymes, delayed wound healing.
