Abirakast 250mg Tablet

Uses:

• Treatment of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

Active constituent:

• Abiraterone acetate.

Administration:

• Taken orally on an empty stomach.
• Should not be taken with food.
• Swallow the tablets whole with water without breaking them.
• Food must be eaten at least 2 hours before taking the medication and must not be eaten for at least 1 hour after taking the medicine.

Important information:

• Not for use in women or children.
• Effective contraception must be taken throughout the treatment.
• Inform your physician if you have liver problems, high blood pressure, heart disorders, low blood potassium, diabetes, allergic conditions, or other diseases.
• Inform your physician of all the medicines, including supplements and herbal medicines, you are taking before you start the treatment.

Side effects:

• Common: fluid in feet or legs, high blood pressure, diarrhea, decrease in red blood cells, reduced sex drive, indigestion, blood in urine, rash.
• Serious: low blood potassium levels (muscle weakness, muscle twitches, or pounding heartbeat).

Contraindications:

• Not recommended for patients with severe liver disorders.
• Not to be taken with Ra-223.
