Abiratas 500mg Tablet

Uses:

• Treatment of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

Active constituent:

• Abiraterone acetate.

Administration:

• Usually given with steroid medication to lower the chances of side effects.
• For early-stage treatment, used with testosterone lowering treatment.
• Not for use in women or children.
• Take on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours after a meal and do not eat for at least 1 hour after taking the medicine.

Contraindications:

• Not to be used by women or children.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe liver disorders.
• Effective contraception must be taken throughout the treatment.
• Inform the physician if the patient has liver problems, high blood pressure, heart disorders, low blood potassium, diabetes, allergic conditions, or other diseases.

Side effects:

• Serious: low blood potassium levels (muscle weakness, muscle twitches, or pounding heartbeat).

Interactions:

• Do not take with Ra-223, which is used to treat prostate cancer.

Storage:

• This medicine does not require any particular storage condition.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Abiratas 500mg Tablet is not indicated to be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not touch this medication without gloves.

• Blood pressure, potassium levels, liver function tests should be monitored regularly while taking this medication.
